Dead Tenants follows the journey of the Preternatural Research Society (PRS) — a team of paranormal investigators — through the attics, basements, living rooms and back yards of the most haunted houses in the country. Coming to the aid of families experiencing unwanted ghosts and unexplainable activity in their homes, PRS is there to help.
Led by occult specialist Deryl Mitzen, the team is composed of renowned psychic Jane Doherty (whose bizarre expanding stomach alerts her to the presence of spirits); tarot-reading Turkish psychic and ufologist Farah Gore; police detective turned ghost-chaser Dave Owens; energy work specialist Susan Pie; historical preservationist and researcher Kenny Roginski; psychic healer Kiki Mandalozis; and spiritual intuitive Noelle Daidone.

Jane, you have traveled all over the world to investigate paranormal phenomena. Tell us about some of these travels and what you have found. What is your most memorable trip?
I had the honor of being part of the first ceremony to open the energy vortexes at the Mayan ruins. I lead a ceremonial dance on the temple of the Jaguar drawing from past life memories to guide me on how to do it. Mexico expanded my sense of self as I experienced spirit after spirit at these sacred sites. I have investigated Alcatraz and the Palace hotel in San Francisco, Ca, Mount Konaki and a museum in Clear Lake, Ca., as well as, Mount Shasta and the William Heath Davis House in San Diego. My investigations have taken me to a private house in North Carolina with the Jenny Jones Show, a restaurant in New York City, a haunted go-go bar, a haunted B&B in Cape May, the Lizzie Borden House in Fall River, and many New Jersey historic houses, such as the Proprietary House, Metlar House, WaterLoo Village, the Spy House and several other places.The most memorable have been the Palace Hotel, the Sea Holly Inn and the Lizzie Borden House. At the Lizzie Borden house I released the spirit of Abby Borden, recorded an evp voice of Lizzie, and solved the murder mystery through spirit communication. The Sea Holly Inn in Cape May earns the reputation of being the one investigation that frightened me because a spirit got in bed with me. The Palace Hotel I will never forget because the spirits of two famous people communicated with me there: George Burns and President Harding.
The "Women's World" article about you said that your stomach "pops" when you sense spirit activity. What is this like and has it always occurred with you?
It feels like a contraction when a woman is in labor, but it doesn't ever release me until the spirit leaves. Instead, the stomach expands as if I was nine months pregnant. Often I can tell by the grip whether it is a female, male or child spirit. This has happened to me since 1990, when I investigated a house with a researcher.
